How to Play Roulette

Roulette is a simple game: firstly there’s a table featuring 36 red and black numbers; one or two green boxes marked with 0 or in American roulette 00 and 12 additional betting boxes. Next to that it is a wheel, spinning constantly, featuring 37-38 boxes numbered 0, and if American 00 and again to the traditional 1 through 36.

To play, you place a bet on the desired number or box, and then the ball is spun around the outer rim of the roulette wheel. If the ball lands in the slot corresponding to your bet, you win, simple as that!

Your dealer, known officially as the Croupier (thanks to the game's French origins), places a marker or "dolly" as it’s also known on the roulette table, on a particular number corresponding to where the ball stopped, and if you have won you collect your winnings.

Roulette Rules

The rules of Roulette are simple, basically you have a certain amount of chips which have been bought by the player, you then place however many chips you wish e on the box you want to bet on (there is a time limit for how long you have to place bets) and if the ball lands on the number or section you placed chips on you win, if not you lose.

Below is a diagram showing the betting table and where exactly you are permitted to place chips. there are variations of the game, for example if you place a chip on the line between two numbered boxes you only receive half the odds you would get if you had placed the chip directly onto the number (half bet).
